BHS Events March/April/May

The BHS has a few events (ours and others’) upcoming and would love to have you participate!

This Friday/Saturday, we will be at the University of the Bahamas’ Literary Festival, with a table selling $1 books by the Michael Eldon Building!  Come and check out our selection then stop by the Thrift Shop to see more!  UB is 10 -4 both days.  The Thrift Shop is 1 – 2 Wed/Thurs/Fri and 10 – 2 Sat.

This Saturday/Sunday, there’s a Big Dog Adopt-a-Thon at the shelter.  We have many adult dogs to choose from, all with super personalities, all looking for their own homes.  The BHS is a no-kill shelter so they won’t be euthanized while they’re waiting but they would rather go home sooner than later!  Sat 10 – 4 and Sun 12 – 4.  Yard checks will need to be completed before adoptions can be finalized so get your application in now!

*** The Main Event for this email is an ocean-inspired jewellery show “Natural Encounter II” by Astengo de Lama Jewels.  Tuesday, March 27th from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Camelot, Ranger Road, Lyford Cay.  Light refreshments will be served and part proceeds go to the BHS! ***

Coming up in April and May, we have the BHS Thrift Shop’s Spring Jewellery Sale (more details to follow) on April 14th and also an event where the winners of the BHumane Award will be presented with their awards.

If you’re ever looking for a way to help, but don’t have much time on your hands, you could always come and walk dogs for an hour each week!  Collecting newspapers, empty soda cans, and old towels are also helpful for us.

Have a great day.
